3ply uses delicate man-made fibres to achieve a super fine finish. Advanced knitters can take advantage of its versatility and produce complex patterns with ease, making it great for baby clothes, blankets and producing a fine cloth for adult wear.
4ply isn’t always made up of four strands and doesn’t necessarily have to be a thick yarn. However, due to the densely packed fibres, it is ideal for those in search of a strong, insulating yarn for garments, toys and accessories. Usually available in natural silk, alpaca and soft angora, it’s also available in man-made fibres making it perfect for babies.
Double knit, also known as DK, is one of the most popular yarn weights of choice. It is available in 100% natural, acrylic and blended fibre options. The highly versatile yarn is known for its soft, lightweight properties and is available in a wonderful array of colours and styles to match your pattern choice.
Aran holds its place in between double knit and chunky yarns, making it a great weight for patterns, crochet, garments and winter accessories. The yarn of choice for raised cable stitched, twisted and diamond pattern designs. As well as natural fibre Aran, modern Aran wool can include blends of Premium Acrylic, adding the benefit of being easier to wash and maintain.
Chunky yarn is brilliant for beginners, as they’re quick-knit and perfect for creating beautiful warm pieces such as jumpers, hats, scarfs and blankets. Knit your way into winter with our extensive range of chunky yarns.
